“The Ten Little Indians,” is a classic children’s nursery rhyme that was written in 1868, but at that time was called, “10 Little Injuns.” Over the years many versions have been established, but the current version appears to be the most popular. The rhyme goes like this:

One little, two little, three little Indians
Four little, five little, six little Indians
Seven little, eight little, nine little Indians
Ten little Indian boys.
Ten little, nine little, eight little Indians
Seven little, six little, five little Indians
Four little, three little, two little Indians
One little Indian boy

Most parents find, “The Ten Little Indians,” to be a great way of teaching children to count not only forward, but also backwards.
